Video 424 | Isometric Hip and Knee Mobility Boost (15 minutes) with Lauren Eirk
15 Minutes • 24-Apr-2023
The hip is a very complex joint, capable of moving in many planes of motion. By comparison, the knee's structure is primarily capable of flexing and extending. Muscle weakness in these joints can cause pain and tightness. This can make exercise positions difficult to access.
In this workout, we will train many of the cardinal planes of the hip and knee using positional isometrics with the assistance of the chair. The goal is to improve muscle contractions, as mobility is a function of strength. Enjoy progressive isometric positions at a variety of joint angles to improve overall joint integrity.
This routine can be done anywhere, anytime. It can reduce fatigue after exercise, as a prevention from injury, and to help manage your muscle strength. This can also be used as a warm-up or as a workout in itself. Isometrics are the precursor to adding any load and challenge to our body.
