Our lifestyles and shoe choices can cause the muscles in our foot and ankle to weaken and lose mobility. The health of the foot influences the knee, hip, trunk, spine, and shoulders. The strength and mobility of the knee, hip, trunk, spine, and shoulders also affect the foot. Many foot issues are not rooted in the foot, even though many therapies are centered around passive stretching, massage, and immobilization of the foot and ankle.
In this Hatha Yoga practice, practice several standing, one-leg balance, seated, and supine poses chosen for their foot involvement. Using isometric and dynamic strengthening exercises, work to activate weak muscles to create a strong, stable base for the foot and ankle. Your feet will be so much more stable after this Yoga practice!
