This Isometric routine is designed to strengthen the muscles that cross the ankle and knee for improved balance and foot strength. As we age, the joints of our lower leg and foot can lose mobility due to lack of use as well as poor circulation.
In this routine, we will work our rear foot, mid-foot, and forefoot in various seated and standing postures. The postures chosen for this Yoga Therapy routine showcase the various aspects of pronation and supination of the feet. You will notice an improved ability to stand on one leg and move your toes.
This practice will help to unlock motion in the feet, knees, hips and core. When our feet are stronger, our overall mobility dramatically improves. The foot is the foundation.
