Video 433 | Pilates Contrology (30 minutes) with Lauren Eirk
Everything • 24-May-2023
Joseph Pilates, the founder and creator of the Pilates system, knew that there was a mind-body-spirit connection to properly execute the original 34 exercises. "Contrology" is the name that is associated with classic Pilates. The movements were based on the principles of Breathing, Control, Concentration, Coordination, Precision, Fluidity.
In this bodyweight workout, we will take our time moving through the first half of the original sequence. Experience many cues and modifications for anyone to benefit. Precision and control are the theme, with no movement that is jerky, fast, or uncontrolled. I have eliminated exercises that involve rolling onto the cervical spine to decrease risk of injury.
