Video 325 | FIS Osteo-Strong (30 Minute Workout) with Lauren Eirk
Everything • 25-May-2022
The word ‘osteoporosis’ means ‘porous bone.’ It is a silent disease that weakens bones and puts you at a greater risk for sudden and unexpected bone fractures. Osteoporosis means that you have less bone mass and strength. The disease often develops without any symptoms or pain, and it is usually not discovered until the weakened bones cause painful fractures. Most of these are fractures of the hip, wrist and spine. Dietary changes along with weight-bearing exercise are often prescribed for these conditions.
In this resistance training workout, we will target the primary areas where we lose bone to help stimulate bone growth. Experience intermittent bone loading exercises to combat the effects of osteoporosis and osteopenia using a chair, dumbbells and a thigh band.
Modifications are given throughout so that all levels can benefit. Take this at your own pace and rest when needed.
