Deep Core
•
20-May-2024
In this Yoga practice, we will focus on the lumbo pelvic-hip complex, which includes deeper muscles such as your internal obliques, transversus abdominis, multifidus, rotatores, semispinalis, quadratus lumborum, psoas, and superficial muscles, such as your rectus abdominis.
Using diaphragmatic breathing, target the deep pelvic floor muscles that make up the pelvic sling, as you become more aware of trunk stabilization techniques. A Yoga block will be used as a tool to access these muscles and create purposeful contractions.
Experience a mind-body-movement sequence done in tandem with breathing cycles as you strengthen the core as well as the deep core. This is followed by a classic Yoga sequence to help you practice these techniques. Finish with a traditional core segment with bodyweight only.
